Johannesburg based beauty school, Laureate Le International Beauty School , is targeting the Zimbabwe market, it has emerged.

Speaking to Business Times this week, Lorraine Marira, the founder of the International beauty school, confirmed the development saying it has since opened its doors in Harare in the low density suburb of Greendale.

Plans, according to her, were to expand to Bulawayo and Mutare.

Marira boasts 15 years’ experience in the beauty industry having worked for different international beauty brands before setting up her school in South Africa.

She has worked with the Department of Correctional Services South Africa imparting beauty skills to female inmates as part of their integration process into the society once released.

“We will be opening beauty schools in Mutare and Bulawayo and this will help aspiring students cut on travelling and accommodation expenses,” Lorraine said.

“The schools will be grooming and providing outstanding training to students in Bulawayo and Mutare. Our qualified trainers offer training according to international standards.”

According to Marira, she felt it was time to share all of her expertise with her fellow citizens of South Africa after working there for so long.

“In Harare we have received a very good response and we are also working with a top hotel chain offering spa treatments to their guests,” she said.

According to Marira, the courses that will be offered will differ, with some students receiving certificates after three months and others receiving diplomas following a year of enrollment.
She claimed that, in contrast to other beauty schools, hers provides all the equipment   required for practical lessons.

“At our school we learn by doing, we focus on equipping our students with all the necessary practical skills,” she said.

Laureate Le International Beauty School is recognised under the International Esthetics, Cosmetics, and Arts Education Board (IECAB), a globally recognized accrediting body dedicated to maintaining high standards in esthetics, cosmetics, and arts education.

“This body evaluates and approves institutions, like our beauty school, based on rigorous criteria to ensure the delivery of quality education and industry-relevant programs,” said Lorraine.

The school is offering courses ranging from cosmetology, esthetics and nail technology just to mention a few.
