Zimbabwe’s newest reality television programme, Brother In House Zimbabwe, will be officially launched on Sunday at a local hotel in Harare, marking a major milestone for home-grown entertainment and reality television.
The highly anticipated event will introduce the 33 selected housemates to the media, sponsors, invited guests and the public before they make their official entry into the specially customised Brother In House Zimbabwe House, where they will live together for the duration of the three-month competition.Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Tongai Mnangagwa, is expected to officiate at the launch ceremony.
Although the programme has been running for the past five weeks, Sunday’s event marks its official public launch, providing stakeholders with an opportunity to meet the contestants and celebrate the growth of Zimbabwe’s locally produced reality television industry.
Produced by Intelligent Excellence Recognition (IER), Brother In House Zimbabwe is a 24-hour reality television show that celebrates Zimbabwean talent, culture and diversity.
Throughout the competition, viewers will watch contestants from across the country compete in a variety of challenges, build alliances, navigate interpersonal relationships, and face weekly nominations and evictions determined through public voting.
The launch follows months of nationwide auditions and extensive preparations that attracted significant public interest. Since its soft rollout, the programme has continued to build momentum, generating excitement among audiences eager to support Zimbabwe’s own reality television production.
Beyond entertainment, Brother In House Zimbabwe aims to promote local talent, create opportunities for emerging creatives, stimulate Zimbabwe’s creative economy and showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage to audiences both at home and across the diaspora.
“Brother In House Zimbabwe is more than a reality television programme. It is a platform that celebrates Zimbabwean talent, resilience and creativity while giving ordinary Zimbabweans an extraordinary opportunity to share their stories with the nation and the world,” said the organisers.
