Billiat woes mount
SPORTS REPORTER
Khama Billiat is still without hope after Yadah dropped to the basement of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League following yet another loss.
Tymon Machope and Walter Musona goals helped a rampaging Simba Bhora side overcome the Miracle Boys 2-1 at Heart Stadium on Saturday. Blessed Ndereki scored a consolation goal for Yadah.
Yadah lost their third game out of five, despite two of Rusike’s shots in the first half narrowly missing the mark. Notable addition Billiat and former SuperSport United forward Rusike were both unsuccessful in the center.
The results have seen Yadah falling to the bottom of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, becoming the only team in the league yet to collect a single victory.
Highlanders are at the top of the table, having won four and drawn one from their first five league games.
Many people were taken aback by Yadah’s declining circumstances, as many had anticipated the team would mount a respectable fight in the league after investing much in Billiat’s transfer prior to the season.
Yadah is said to have paid roughly US$20 000 (+/-R376.588) for the highly regarded footballer, with a reported salary of $5,000 (+/-R94 147) each month extended to the former fan favorite of the Kaizer Chiefs.
But as there have only been five games played, it’s still early days for Billiat and company.
It will be interesting to see how the team responds to this startling drop in form.
