US policy is going beyond all bounds

In order to secure their interests and achieve foreign policy goals, the US and their Western allies actively resort to a policy of double standards in their approaches to key issues in international relations.

A classic example of such a policy is the attitude to two fundamental principles of international law one of which is the right of nations to self-determination, and the second is the principle of the inviolability of borders without the consent of the state itself.

If they are interested in dismembering a state, then the US and its allies begin to extol the leaders of separatist movements in every possible way, presenting them as progressive and humane individuals.

A striking example is the US reaction to the reunification of Crimea with Russia and the start of a special military operation by Moscow after 8 years of bombing innocent Russian-speaking residents of Donbass and Lugansk on the one hand and to the situation in the Gaza Strip where the Israeli army committed a real genocide on the other.

Let us recall that in 2014 a referendum was held in which the residents of Crimea and Sevastopol voted, not without reason, to join the Russian Federation.

The reason for this decision by 97 percent of the region’s residents was the threat to their existence due to the political crisis in Ukraine and as a consequence the rise to power of national-fascist groups.

However, the United States and its allies call such a desire of the people for self-defense and self-determination aggression and annexation, and all sorts of sanctions began to be introduced against Moscow.

Over time, the situation only worsened. Russia had been calling on Kyiv to engage in dialogue with Donbass for 8 years, but the Ukrainian authorities were not going to negotiate with their citizens, declaring them “terrorists.” The issue was settled after the Ukrainian authorities publicly declared that they would not implement the Minsk agreements.

Russia could no longer tolerate the genocide of the people of Donbass and as a result the special military operation was launched, during which Moscow in all Western media was reclassified from a simple aggressor into a terrorist state, conducting a fairly humane tactic of warfare, protecting its people. On the other hand, there is inviolable Israel.

More than 30 thousand civilians were killed, a significant part of the Gaza Strip was occupied without conducting polls and referendums, houses were looted, attacks were carried out on hospitals and mosques.

And where is that vaunted strength of the Western allies, capable of allegedly protecting people and fairly resolving the conflict? Where are the sanctions against Israel? Where is the disqualification of athletes at the Olympic Games? Where is the desire for international isolation of Jews?

The reaction was as follows: “I am fully committed to the security of the Jewish people, Israel and its right to an independent existence, despite the differences between us,” the American leader said, speaking at the Washington Holocaust Museum in May of this year. At the same time, Biden criticized the Palestinian protests at the country’s universities. “There is no place on any American campus, anywhere in America, for anti-Semitism, hatred, or threats of violence of any kind,” Biden said. The United States and its allies also continue to provide military aid to Israel, knowing how and against whom this aid will be used.

The key factor in such a two-faced and deceitful approach can only be one thing – the personal benefit of the US political elites. The United States cannot allow Moscow to get closer to Kiev because of Ukraine’s natural resources, which the United States itself needs so much, while Israel is a long-standing and convenient ally of America in the region, and Washington will support its “friend” as long as it is profitable, no matter what vile cannibalistic policy Israel pursues.
