Top South African DJ invades Chinhoyi

Top South African disc jockey DJ Prince Kay Bee born Kabelo Motsamai (pictured) will perform live this Sunday at Jongwe Corner in Chinhoyi.

Prince KayBee becomes the first foreign artiste to perform in Chinhoyi.

In an interview with Business Times, Moreblessing Chingindi of Jongwe Corner said preparations for the musical show are well on course.

He added that Jongwe Corner has lured the top DJ Prince KayBee in a bid to promote tourism and culture.

“The upcoming musical show in Chinhoyi is another initiative to promote growth of tourism in smaller cities. Here, we have the likes of Chinhoyi Caves,” Chingindi said.

He added: “We continuously look for ways to entertain music fans by constantly offering them more choices of great value from artistes across genres on one stage. Prince Kay Bee is a top DJ, so merrymakers should expect a night of good music.”

Chingindi said supporting acts would be hip-hop artiste Saintfleow, Dj Merciless and Dj Kingher among other local disc jockeys.

Prince KayBee is famous for hits like Gugulethu, Banomoya, Uwrongo, Club controller, Zumbali and Breakfast in Soweto.

He was nominated in 2019 for MTV Europe Music Award for the best African Act.

In 2021, he was nominated for the South African Music award for the best music video of the year.

Music fans that spoke to Business Times said they were looking forward to the show.

“Since it is a family show, I will bring my little son who always sings Kay bee’s music. It’s quite an opportunity for us in Chinhoyi to have such an artist in our town,” Milton Mazvaure said.

Another fan Robson Muza said:  “We are expecting a good act from this top Dj. I am happy that Jongwe Corner has considered our small town to host such an artist.

Last weekend, Two Kings Entertainment hosted South African artiste Makhadzi in Kadoma.
