Popular contemporary musician, Tamy Moyo(pictured) is grateful for the recognition that the local artistes are getting from the corporate world given the resource constraints that limit their creativity and potential.

This comes after the artiste signed a deal with events company MCM VVIP CLUB, a partnership she said will help unlock her full potential.

Local artistes have been struggling to get meaningful support and collaboration from local corporations, a development which has affected their competitiveness with regional counterparts.

However, there seems to be a positive change as local companies of late have been collaborating with local artistes.

Speaking to Business Times, Tamy hailed MCM and the corporate world for believing in their own as they strive to compete on the international market.

“So the corporate world has been coming through for us a whole lot including MCM who is taking this big initiative to single-handedly change the face of entertainment by promoting artistes and promoting agenda of land acquisition as well,” she said.

“Our fight has been to be recognised by our own and obviously for you to do that and to be able to make your craft better to progress forward you need resources.

“You know we were always calling on the support of corporate entities to come in and support the arts to support your own because we are ambassadors of our country because when we go out there we represent our people so we need that support from home.

“So the cooperation has been very much improved in the last I can say 5 years we now have a lot engagements between corporate and artiste relations.’’

With the new partnership with MCM the musician is determined to break new grounds as she is contributing 110% to make the partnership a success.

Tamy is going to be one of the headline performers at the much anticipated MCM VVIP’s first ever Vvip event in Zimbabwe dubbed “Business is pleasure”.

The event is set for October 22 at the Palms in Borrowdale from 6 pm up until midnight.

The event is expected to host business leaders, captains of industry, celebrities, and socialites and for a night of entertainment and an opportunity to do business in a pleasurable manner.

Other artists billed to perform include rising contemporary musicians Ishan, Holy Ten and Nutty O.

“On what to expect on the night the songbird said,’’ this is our opportunity to showcase how much we can do given the opportunity given the platform so the night expect fireworks a big production because it will be more than a performance.

Meanwhile, the musician hinted on a few collaborations with international artists as well as with some well-established local musicians.

“I’m excited about a few collaborations I have done locally and internationally 2022. I’m not going to reveal much but all I can say is 2023 is going to be very exciting for me. It’s going to start on a higher note,’’ she said.
