Women in the Midlands Province will on February 5, 2022  meet in Gweru at an event to promote women in business, Business Times can report.

The event is organised by Fearless and Flawless movement, which was established by two Gweru -based women, Odert Kosimoni Gogwe (pictured below) and Kim Gogwe Sibanda, who is an entrepreneur and presenter at 98.4 FM Midlands.

The one day event will be graced by highly profiled Midlands Province women, who will be resource persons including  Gweru-based dentist and  surgeon Dr Nyanzira Mukwembi, legal practitioner  Chipo Dube,  Charity Mashava, a branch manager with a local bank  and Chido Chizondo, the FC Platinum spokesperson, among many others.

They will mentor other business women in the province.

Sibanda told Business Times  that the Fearless and Flawless movement is meant to be the shadow for women, the think-tank, the hub for business initiatives, resuscitator of and for the Midlands Province women.

“We are fearless women in the sense that we are no longer afraid to try, we are no longer afraid to venture into business despite having Covid-19 as the major challenge among others.

“As flawless women, we can do anything. We can do what Harare women are doing, what South African women are doing. Ladies, come and take what you need,” Sibanda said.

She said most investments will be in hospitality, healthcare, artificial intelligence, fashion, art, agriculture, mining among other lines of business.

“The idea is to start, progress and finish.  We laid out the plan, so we are going to start with bringing women together, help them on economic freedom. Giving them mental strength and the correct mindset. The next stage will be equipping the women with business ideas which will be followed by implementation. Finally, a follow up and assessment wraps up the project,” Sibanda said.

Co-founder, Ordet Gogwe, challenged women to desist from a dependency syndrome and start businesses in their own names, not being employed by their husbands.

“We have endless cases where women lost what they had built as couples for years, all because it was in the husband’s name. Also, gone are the days women were known for gossiping and pulling fellow women down. No woman is inferior to the movement, this has nothing to do with education, profession, marital status or any form of stratification, all are welcome,” Gogwe said.
