Doughaz Training and Consultancy Services P/L (DTCS), has been registered as a co-operating agency of the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) to handle and provide internationally-recognised defensive driving courses to reduce road accidents, Business Times can report.
TSCZ, a State-owned enterprise, has been vigorously pushing for all drivers in the country to go for defensive driving courses to reduce road accidents.
Due to the overwhelming response from companies and individuals, TSCZ has registered a few co-operating agencies to complement its efforts.
DTCS managing director Douglas Nhando said the company is conducting defensive driving courses to company employees who are engaged as drivers, management personnel that drive companies vehicles, as well as the general public.
“We have been registered by the TSCZ to train defensive driving course. We have weekdays and just introduced weekend classes for those who have work commitments and cannot come during the week,” Nhando told Business Times.
DTCS has roped in the Vehicle Inspection Department and British trained defensive driving course instructor Emmie Tazivazvino-Smit (pictured) to ensure service excellence.
Tazivazvino-Smit is also a certified instructor /assessor for the Smith System, which is an American Advanced Driving Training Course, which targets light motor vehicle drivers.
Apart from operating a TSCZ cooperating agency business, Nhando is also an entrepreneur in various fields including horticulture, fast food industry, cross border transport and fleet maintenance in Zimbabwe.
He also operates a plant maintenance workshop in Tete, Mozambique.
In Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, Nhando, also operates an adhesive manufacturing concern.
Nhando’s vision is to expand into the region with the driver training and development project.
