ZANU-PF primary elections date set

The governing party, ZANU-PF’s primary elections will be held on March 25 across the country, Business Times can report.
Addressing journalists in Harare yesterday, ZANU-PF national political commissar, Mike Bimha, confirmed the development.
It comes after the elections were postponed last week.
“President Emmerson Mnangagwa has directed that ZANU-PF primary elections be held on the 25th of March 2023,”Bimha said.
The names of successful candidates to contest the primaries were expected to be announced later yesterday.
The party deployed Politburo members in all the 10 provinces of the country to announce the names of the successful candidates.
Elifas Mashaba was deployed to Bulawayo Metropolitan Province while Charles Tavengwa was deployed to Harare Metropolitan Province.
Lovemore Matuke, Patrick Chinamasa and Keneth Musanhi were deployed to Masvingo, Manicaland and Mashonaland Central respectively.
Mike Bimha was deployed to Mashonaland East while Christopher Mutsvangwa and Obert Mpofu were deployed to Mashonaland West and Matabeleland North respectively.
Richard Ndlovu was deployed to Matabeleland South while Simbabrashe Mubengegwi was deployed to the Midlands Province.
