MSASA – Nando’s has invested $700, 000 in a new Casa that was officially opened in Msasa on Monday afternoon.

Addressing the media at the official opening, Warren Jeremy Meares ,the chief executive officer of Simbisa, said the investment was a stepping stone in their bid to expand their operations in the country.

The Msasa Branch will be followed by other Casas (the name given to their Nando’s stores) that will be opened in Gweru, Sam Levy’s Village, Fife Avenue and Victoria Falls before the end of the year.

“This investment is another stepping stone on our expansion within the country, an expansion that builds communities, provide jobs and of course brings our fiery, spicy, Casa-cooked meals to the people. As we launch this branch the construction of the other four are already underway,” he said.

He said they were looking at investing an average of $750 000 per each branch.

“As we support local communities, we also support local farmers who grow the famous African Birds-Eye chilli, the fundamental ingredient of the renowned Nando’s Peri-Peri flavor and fire,” he added.

Turning to their adverts that have been received with mixed feeling by the public, Meares said they make serious considerations before coming up with such and therefore they were not controversial.

Meanwhile Simbisa Brands also announced the reopening of the Msasa Food Court in Harare.

The food court will house their flagship brands Chicken Inn, Pizza Inn, Creamy Inn, Bakers Inn and Nando’s.

Each outlet has undergone a facelift a move they say will give fresh look to their customers.

“We would therefore like to welcome various members of the community to come celebrate the Msasa reopening with us. We have encourage all to come and have a taste of our delicious products,” he said
