ZCDC chief executive Morris Mpofu was arrested today on allegations of corruption, Business Times can report.
Mpofu was initially picked up yesterday by detectives only to be released in the company of his lawyer while his case was awaiting opinion of the Prosecutor General.
He was eventually arrested this morning and is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
A source at the National Prosecuting Authority confirmed Mpofu’s arrest.
“Mpofu was arrested this morning over corruption allegations and is expected to appear in court,” said the source.
Mpofu’s arrest comes after detectives on Monday also arrested finance director Charles Gambe over allegations of abuse of office.

Gambe is being accused of purchasing 1 200 bags of cement for his personal use, using the ZCDC Lafarge account.
