Manyame Park is set to be transformed into a modern area with a gated community, malls, hospitals and tight security for residents as contractors work towards ensuring affordable basic housing for low-income earners.

Known as Nyore Nyore Housing Scheme, the project was launched recently by property development firm, Pinnacle Properties led by businessman Dr Philip Chiyangwa with President Emmerson Mnangagwa expected for a huge ceremony at a date to be announced.

Over 20 000 civil servants are benefitting from the scheme following an agreement between Pinnacle Holdings and the government.

Once effectively implemented in Mashonaland East, the scheme would be expanded to other provinces across the country.

Dr Chiyangwa said the stands are affordable and also it is cheap to be a property owners. Encouraged women to be empowered and have their own assets.

“There is no need to go out for anything because you will be in a gated community. For security reasons, there are CCTVs all over to ensure the safety of the residents. We are changing the face of what you called the backyard of Chitungwiza and make it a town,” he said.

“We will have sporting facilities, a football stadium which is exactly what football needs. As you know I was heavily involved with football and I know what is needed,” he said.

“I was involved in a lot of sports administration including boxing and other sports so I want all in the same community we are creating there,” he said.

“We will have good roads that link Marondera, Chitungwiza and also we are building hospitals, supermarkets, spazas among other things.”

“Our terms are amenable, and we believe we have a role in nation-building through contributing to housing delivery in Zimbabwe,” Dr Chiyangwa said.

“The scheme is open to everyone including the vendors, youths and even executives. The Manyame City is a gated community with all essential amenities including hospitals and schools”

This initiative is poised to significantly impact housing availability in the country, aligning with national development goals.

The contractor, Bitumen World, is finalising road construction in the area.
