A senior ZANU-PF member in the Midlands province has called on his party supporters not to tolerate anyone who speaks about any political party saying that days of entertaining opposition voices are over as the country prepares for the 2023 harmonised elections.

The ruling party last year at their elective congress  endorsed President Emmerson Mnangagwa as their  Presidential candidate for the 2023 election.

Shurugwi South MP, Edmond Mkaratigwa who is also the ZANU-PF Midlands secretary for administration, told party supporters at Gwanza Primary School during a sports tournament that any talk about the opposition should be disregarded.

“Here in Shurugwi, we do not know about the opposition, we do not know about and we do not want to know anything about it, we have tolerated the opposition for a long time and this is the end of such a behaviour and where we are going the only talk should be Mnangagwa,” said Mkaratigwa to the cheer of party supporters.

He told the ZANU-PF supporters that campaigning and voting for their party leader Emmerson Mnangagwa would ensure that development ensues.

“President Mnangagwa is the only suitable candidate and all eligible voters should go and vote for him and you will see the development he will bring to Shurugwi; he loves this area so dearly. Not to say that he does not love the whole country, but it is my opinion and thinking that he has this deep desire for Shurugwi,” Mkaratigwa said.

The Shurugwi South MP is implementing a sports tournament initiative in his constituency which he says is the brain child of the President and is being supported by relevant government departments.

“When President Mnangagwa speaks about Vision 2023, sports development is a critical enabler of this strategy and as we launch this initiative, the President expects that through sport, communities will be transformed,” said Mkaratigwa.
