OUTSPOKEN and musician-cum politician Hosiah Chipanga claims he has the toolbox to fix Zimbabwe’s worsening economic and political situation and is seeking audience with President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Chipanga contested as an independent candidate for Dangamvura/Chikanga constituency and lost in the July 30 harmonised elections.

Prosper Mutseyami of the MDC Alliance won the seat.

In an interview in Mutare last week, Chipanga said he was willing to meet Mnangagwa.

“l am appealing to Mnangagwa because l feel he has a heart and l hope he will be open to meet me,” he said.

“I am looking forward to meet him. Regardless of almost 40 years in my spiritual mission to try and save Zimbabwe from the situation in which the country is now fully drawn in, no one has taken me seriously. I hope President Mnangagwa will listen to me and probably consider some of my contributions.”

“I want to declare to Mnangagwa that God did not let the children of Zimbabwe get their independence without a full set of spanners to fix any problems they would come across and I have that tool box,” claimed the Kwachu Kwachu hit maker.

“Some time ago, l tried to convince President Robert Mugabe to listen to my solutions, but his attention was drawn by the shocking discovery of diesel from a rock in Chinhoyi. The government preferred fake diesel to my spiritual advice from our Creator,” added Chipanga.

The musician said the country needed some spiritual guidance.
“This country needs God. Zimbabwe is lacking a spiritual touch and this is why l wanted to meet President Mnangagwa so that l give him that spiritual solution,” he said.

Chipanga said he has tried for the umpteenth time to have a word with Mugabe but was blocked by officials that surrounded Mugabe at the time.
