The Chipinge Magistrate Court has sentenced a  53-year old woman from Chimanimani  to 12 years imprisonment for raping a 14 year old boy.

This came after Dianah Dhliwayo (53) who resided  in Chinamira Village under chief Muusha  pleaded guilty  to the charge.

Prosecutor Themba Dhliwayo told the court that on  March 1, 2022, the complainant (boy) went to Violet Nyamadzawo’s homestead to collect his money for a piece job he had done at her homestead.

Upon arrival he was referred to the accused person (Dianah Dhliwayo). He then proceeded but was told to come back the next day.

The following day the boy returned to the accused person’s homestead and asked for his money. Instead of handing over the money to the boy, the old woman told the boy that she had no money but had intentions of having sexual intercourse with him. He refused.

“The accused person then pushed the complainant and he fell to the ground and took a wrapping cloth and wrapped the complainant together with her.

“The accused person then removed her pants and pulled her dress upwards, removed the complainant’s trousers and pants and threw them on the floor.

She then lied facing upwards and pulled the complainant on top of her and had sex with the boy, the prosecutor said.

The complainant shouted for help but no one came to his rescue.

When the accused person noted that the complainant was bleeding from his private parts she then left him.

The complainant told the accused that he was going to report the case.  He was threatened that if he speaks of it he will be killed.

On  March 4, the boy reported what had happened to (Violet) Nyamadzawo and advised her to tell his parents.

This led to the arrest of the accused.
