ZNCC congress preps at advanced stage

Preparations for the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) annual congress set for the end of this month in the resort town of Victoria Falls are at advanced stage.
The congress kicks off on June 29 and runs until July 1, 2022 under the theme: “bolstering resilience and innovativeness for sustainable growth”.
It comes at a time Zimbabwe is battling a myriad of challenges including high inflation, volatile exchange rate, forex shortages, electricity and food shortages among other problems.
The ZNCC CEO, Christopher Mugaga told Business Times the congress will seek possible solutions to current economic headwinds .
“On the first day we will have the Finance and Economic Development Minister Ncube who will present the second half economic outlook where we will discuss the headwinds in the economy and how we can find an anecdote to these problems.
“On the second day, [governor] Mangudya will also present a currency conundrum topic and there will be discussions around policy options and recommendations which the country may use to tackle currency issues,” Mugaga said.
He added: “Industry and Commerce minister Sekai Nzenza, Foreign Affairs and International Trade deputy Minister David Musabayana, Africa Business Council president Amany Asfour,Zimbabwe Stock Exchange CEO Justin Bgoni, World Bank Zimbabwe country manager Marjorie Mpundu African Development Bank country manager Zimbabwe Moono Mupotola and AFC Bank Head, Strategy and Business Development Joseph Mverecha will also be in attendance.”
