ZMTN launches streaming decoder, over 300 channels, no monthly subsciption

Yet another player has joined the content provider game in Zimbabwe.

ZMTN is a streaming TV Network and owners of the ZMTN Revolt Decoder. What makes this decoder different is its said to have over 300 free channels and much to our surprise has no monthly TV subscription.

ZMTN has also said they are offering an opportunity for the film and content production companies in Zimbabwe to own their own channels for local content on their decoder.

One of the channels on the ZMTN Revolt Decoder called star films is playing local movies from all 54 African countries and Zimbabwean movies will also be played on the channel.

Mr Vukile Manzi, the chief executive of ZMTN Revolt Decoder, said “the sport channels we have showcase soccer leagues that Multichoice showcases. We have tons of content, five which Netflix is famous for, and we have the latest movies which you don’t pay a cent to watch.”

Speaking on their unusual business model, Manzi said “it saves tons of money because it doesn’t have a monthly TV subscription. Zimbabweans will not have to worry about being in debt and not being able to watch TV if they don’t pay their monthly subscription, and finding their decoder suspended. With us its freedom, saving our customers money.

“Allowing local companies and individuals to own channels will be creating business and job opportunities. We’re also setting up a TV Channel called Harare TV which will be based in Zimbabwe and which will be airing on the ZMTN Revolt Decoder. We aim to create more than 200 jobs.”
