Zimsmart Villages Franchise and Agents in partnership with NetOne’s OneMoney have come up with an empowerment initiative targeted at women in both rural and remote areas in Nyanga district, Manicaland province.
Women from various areas in Nyanga district are set to benefit from the entrepreneurship and sales training program which will then enable them to implement learnt lessons through selling different products online.
Zimsmart Villages Chief Executive Officer, Dr Admore Jokwiro says that the training program will allow them to implement some of the lessons through selling goods online to people residing in remote areas.
“This is essentially an e-commerce initiative which seeks to bring a great variety, competitive pricing and obviously the convenience of nationwide deliveries through Zimbabwe Postal Services (ZimPost) outlets countrywide,” he said.
The training program commenced this Monday in Ruwangwe, Regina and Tombo areas.
On Tuesday, the programme was taken to Charamba and Mapako areas while yesterday, villagers in Nyanga Urban and London Stores took time to complete the project.
Once done with the programme, the women will be qualified to be OneMoney agents and they will be airtime vendors in terms of domestic remittance.
