Zim sports clubs, gyms granted longer opening hours

Zimbabwe’s supreme sports body, the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) has given sports clubs and gyms the greenlight to open for longer hours.

They have been allowed to operate from 06.30am to 6.30pm.

The development comes after government this week extended business operating hours from 06.30am to 6.30pm as part of efforts to revive the economy following restrictions to curb the spread  the spread of COVID-19.

“The Sports and Recreation Commission hereby gives notice of the decision by Government of Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Arts and Recreation to grant authority for the adjustment of operating times for registered sport and recreational facilities (clubs and gyms).

This approval is pursuant to the recommendations made by the SRC on behalf of the sport and recreation sector to the Minister,” SRC said.
