TM Group founder and businessman, Tinashe Manzungu has been invited to the UK Parliament by Lord Simone for a high level summit where he has vowed to push the Zimbabwe business interests to lure potential investors.

Manzungu will attend the 13th African Achievers Awards and International Summit to be held at the House of Lords, UK Parliament to be held under the theme “Unlocking Sustainable Trade Investment Opportunities in Africa”.

The African Achievers Awards and International Awards has consistently honoured great African leaders, young achievers, community builders and captains of industry across the continent.

Those honoured include the late South African Cleric Archbishop Desmond Tutu, South African Minister and former African Union Chairperson Nkosazana Dhlamini-Zuma, former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, African Development Bank among several others.

Manzungu said he will use the opportunity at the global stage to promote the country’s mantra.

“As someone coming from Zimbabwe, we are saying it is dovetailing with our country’s Vision 2030,” he said.

“We are talking of our country’s mantra of openness for business and also looking forward to building Zimbabwe through engaging investors in the different facets of mining, agriculture, industry and construction.

“I want to urge other business people in the country to look global and get our country on the world map,” Manzungu told Business Times yesterday.

Last month, Manzungu was honoured by the California Metropolitan University (USA) at a ceremony held in the United Kingdom.

He was honoured with a Doctorate in Business Administration by the United States-accredited and internationally acclaimed firm for his strides in business leadership in and out of Zimbabwe at the Leaders Without Borders annual Business Summit and international honours event where he was also guest speaker.
