Power utility ZESA Holdings’ manufacturing unit, ZESA Enterprises (ZENT), has been awarded ISO quality and environmental management systems certification.

ISO certifies that a company has all the requirements  for standardisation and quality assurance.

Speaking at the event to hand over the certification certificates in the capital on Friday,  ZESA Holdings executive chairman Sydney Gata  said: ”This is indeed a milestone worth celebrating.”

He added: “We are all aware of the many benefits that accrue to businesses which embrace world class systems such as the ISO systems. It is heartening to note that our local companies such as ZESA Enterprises are not being left behind in embracing world class systems as the world increasingly becomes globalized and clients and other stakeholders become increasingly demanding. Going forward, we believe this ensures increased competitiveness and sustainability for the business.”

The Standard Association of Zimbabwe director general, Eve Gadzikwa commended ZENT.

“Certification to the three systems is truly a commendable achievement. It is a sign of dedication and commitment to your mission of providing quality
energy products and services,” Gadzikwa said.

She added: The certification will improve the day to day running of operations across the company. The successful development and

implementation of the system will definitely have a more holistic and positive impact on ZENT’s clients, employees, communities, shareholders and wider stakeholders. As such, these certifications will serve as testimony to the fact that ZENT is a good Corporate citizen, committed to contributing to a better tomorrow for our country and its citizens.”
