Zanu PF mocks Chamisa’s ‘divine powers’

Zanu PF said the revolutionary movement remains intact and ready to restructure from cell to all structures of the party adding that there was no room for “strategic ambiguity” and misplaced divine beliefs to alienate others politically like what opposition leader Nelson Chamisa (inset) did, according to ruling party secretary general Obert Mpofu.

Chamisa was forced to quit opposition politics after the collapse of his strategic ambiguity where he assumed all responsibilities in the party and was not clear on the leadership structures ostensibly to shut out infiltrators.

However, elements including now Senator Sengezo Tshabangu capitalised on the said strategy to take control of the party and recalled dozens of party elected officials aligned to Chamisa.

Tshabangu was accused of working with Zanu PF to destroy the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), a claim he denied insisting Chamisa had himself to blame because of his strategy.

“In Zanu PF, there is no strategic ambiguity within our party or a situation where cadres prevent others from occupying leadership positions on account of having received such instructions from some divine power in their dreams,” Mpofu added.

This was in apparent reference to how Chamisa reportedly elbowed out former Finance Minister and ex-CCC interim vice president Tendai Biti claiming it was a divine order.

Chamisa, a Pastor in the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) is known for his biblical analogies in political responses.

He signs out his posts mainly on microblogging site X, formerly Twitter, with #GodIsInIt.

CCC interim leader Professor Welshman Ncube recently said the damage Chamisa inflicted on the opposition outfit is “unquantifiable” and they are now ready to work with the ruling Zanu PF party for the country’s development.

His former loyalists in the opposition think Chamisa over relies on biblical thoughts to address political issues and sees those who oppose him as sinners.
