Fatou Lo, the UN Women Country Representative in Zimbabwe, has emphasised the need for greater inclusion of women in leadership roles, highlighting it as a vital step towards achieving gender equality.
“Increased female participation is critical for advancing gender equality and inclusive governance in Zimbabwe,” Lo said.
Beyond leadership, the UN is also advocating for women’s right to own land in Zimbabwe, viewing this as crucial for resilience against climate change.
This push for land ownership forms part of broader UN initiatives to promote greater equality and sustainable development ensuring women have the resources and opportunities to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the economic growth.
