ZIMBABWE’S leading seed house, Seed Co Limited Wednesday donated over 500kg of mealie meal and a 50kg each of seed maize to four partner institutions under its corporate social responsibility initiative.
The three institutions that benefited are Mutemwa Leprosy Centre, Jairos Jiri Home, Mashambanzou Care Trust and Mother Peace.
Speaking at the handover ceremony at Stapleford in the capital, Seed Co’s spokesperson, Marjorie Mutemererwa, said part of the company’s policy of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is to promote health, education sports, culture and agriculture and also to ensure food security in the country.
“Our education initiatives focus has been paying school fees for students from primary and secondary schools. We also have students that have graduated studying engineering and other that are currently studying medicine,” Mutemererwa said.
