Seed Co Zimbabwe appoints Mhandu as new MD

Seed producer, Seed Co Zimbabwe, has appointed Edworks Mhandu as its new managing director with effect from October 1.

He takes over from Denias Zaranyika who starts a three months leave with effect from October 1 pending his retirement from the group.

Before his appointment, Mhandu was deputy MD for Seed Co Zimbabwe since February.

He will also head the Southern cluster which covers Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique, the company said in a notice.

Mhandu has been with Seed Co for over 30 years occupying various positions. He was executive director and MD for Seed Co’s cotton seed company, Quton.

Zaranyika is leaving Seed Co after 21 years having joined the seed producer as marketing manager in 1999 and rising to MD and head of the Southern cluster.
