Personal development coach, Rudo Nyamoto, has won two global awards- silver and bronze- in the Woman in Media and Coach of the Year categories respectively at the 2023 Women Changing the World Awards held in London, the United Kingdom on Tuesday this week.

Speaking to Business Times, Nyamoto soon after receiving the awards, she said: “Over the years, I have gone on a journey of coming out of being a girl that was afraid and limited in my vision and in my dreams. I went through a journey of re-discovering who I am, who I am going  to be, and becoming a confident woman.”

She added: “ This is what birthed the coach in me, that desire to help others discover themselves. The book I wrote titled The Power of Loving You, gives highlights of part of the journey I went through. So when it was time for the Women Changing the World nominations to happen, I had to live my own principles, live my beliefs and values that I had written in the book.

“It was a test of who I was and my confidence levels, the whole journey pushed me beyond limits, pushed me to believe in myself, tested whether or not I really believed in the gift that I carried, and this has given me the opportunity to look deep within, and re-discover the Rudo that is hidden inside of me.”

She said her greatest desire  was  to inspire those around her to live life to the full, and to break out of limitations to see that life was filled with possibilities.

“So winning for me meant I could make a statement, not only to myself, but to all those around me.

“ You can truly become great and live a life that inspires others to live their greatness and break out of every limitation upon their life. Looking at these awards,  it speaks volumes that there is no limit to life.

“Winning these awards mean I must continue to make a difference.

“My voice can be amplified to that girl who has lost confidence because of pain, hurt, abuse or to that young man who is discouraged, wondering who he is as he grapples with inferiority complexities. Winning for me means I can speak to the executive, to the manager, to the secretary, to the till operator and tell him/her whatever dream you have set in your mind it can become a reality.”

The talented Nyamoto wears many other jackets apart from being a personal development coach.  Among them, she is also a published author, director of ceremonies, speaker, confidence coach, radio and television personality.

The  awards, presented by Oprah Winfrey’s all-time favourite guest, Dr. Tererai Trent, celebrate and recognize women achieving outstanding success in areas such as sustainability, humanitarian work, leadership, advocacy, tech, product development, education, health and innovation.

The awards are also designed to recognize women who are leading the way in making the world a better place to live  and inspire other women to answer the call to take action.
