Listed hospitality group, Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) is offering a full summer holiday package for customers across Africa to compensate for the time lost during the Covid-19 induced lockdowns which restricted the movement of tourists and travellers.

The tourism and hospitality sector has been hard hit by the pandemic which led to the cancellations of meetings and conferences.

RTG corporate communications and innovations manager Pride Khumbula told Business Times the web and mobile platform, Gateway Stream has over 55000 rooms in 30 African countries.

“Apart from the accommodation which includes hotels, lodges, homestays (AirBnB model), and houseboats, the platform also offers holiday packages with an option to create your own package,” Khumbula said.

“From budget accommodation in remote, quiet destinations to luxury five-star hotels in vibrant city locations, currently, there are 7,000 rooms available on the platform, across Zimbabwe.

Gateway Stream has rooms available for the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair and has over 40 lodges with at least 500 rooms listed in Bulawayo, Khumbula said.

Gateway Stream has listings in Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique, Mauritius, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, and Nigeria, among others.

Beyond Zimbabwe, some of the packages include Sun City Family Getaway, Magaliesburg Hot Air Balloon Safari (South Africa), Chobe Game Drive (Botswana), and Rhino Walk (Zambia).

The platform also gives users the option to book houseboats in Kariba and Victoria Falls.
