PRESIDENT Emerson Mnangagwa said production is the only way out of Zimbabwe’s current economic mess characterised by job loses, company closures and hyperinflation which is ravaging the economy, among other challenges.

The situation is exacerbated by skyrocketing prices of goods and services and the weakening Zimbabwe dollar.Addressing ZANU-PF delegates at Goromonzi High School in Mashonaland East Province on Saturday, Mnangagwa said people must work hard to revive the economy.

“We will support projects and more projects across productive sectors and there will be no more room for cellphone farmers,” Mnangagwa said.

He added: “All party members and the nation as a whole must shun retrogresdive tendencies such as indescipline, greed, corruption, selfishness and immorality. among other vices.”

He also challenged government workers. “I would rather challenge every public servants and party member to reform and turn over a new leaf towards a result oriented culture. Excuses for non performers will no longer be tolerated.”

Mnangagwa also blamed opposition parties for causing political violence.

“The January nonsense  amid periodic mischievous activities by the opposition elements such as those witnessed this year must be nipped in the mud. Never again shall we allow loss of precious  lives of our countrymen to feed the agents of a notorious few.

“Let us therefore expose their lies and fake news by always preaching the truth and trust. Every citizen must keep their eyes on the ball and the ball is productivity, unity, peace and harmony, ” Mnangagwa said.
