Politburo endorses provincial election results

The ZANU-PF Politburo on Wednesday endorsed results of the recently held provincial elections.
Those endorsed are now substantive provincial chairpersons in their respective provinces.
In Mashonaland West Province, the Minister of State Mary Mliswa-Chikoka beat Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services deputy Minister, Kindness Paradza, former provincial youth chairman,Vengai Musengi and former ZBC CEO, Happison Muchechetere.
Daniel Garwe, the Social Amenities and Housing Minister was elected chairman of Mashonaland East while Robson Mavhenyengwa beat Minister of State for Masvingo Province, Ezra Chadzamira.
Former War Veterans leader, Jabulani Sibanda won the chairmanship for Bulawayo Province, while the Minister of Environment, Climate Change, Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Mangaliso Ndlovu is the new chairman of Matabeleland South Province.
In the Midlands Province, Larry Mavima was elected uncontested.
Godwills Masimirembwa, Kazembe Kazembe, Richard Moyo and Mike Madiro, won Harare Province, Mashonaland Central, Matabeleland North Province and Manicaland Province respectively.
Addressing the Politburo, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said: “Let us build on this vibrancy by nurturing and strengthening our internal democratic culture and mobilization ecosystem.
I urge all members of the party to be mindful of the fact that, in our party, there are no winners and losers. It is the people and ultimately the party that wins.Party cadres who did not make it in the recent elections must avail themselves, their experiences, skills and competencies to build and grow our mass party.”
