The annual One Voice Concert that will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre on the 22nd of December, with a goal to encourage the culture of worshiping in Zimbabwe.

Gospel musician Shingisai Suluma is expected to grace the event as well as one of Zimbabwe’s leading choral groups, Zimpraise choir.

Organiser of the show, Learnmore Tavengwa, who is also the director of Spirit Praise Choir, said they have decided to bring a different package to the people.

“We are trying to encourage the spirit of worship in Zimbabwe. We will also be inviting musicians outside of choral groups to participate in the event,” he said.

Turning to his group, Spirit Praise choir, Tavengwa said they were happy to be part of the great initiative.

“Choral groups are going beyond boarders and it’s up to us now to produce excellent content. Our songs and videos will definitely do the best,” he added.

The group has two albums namely, “Vatatu Mumwechete” and “Nguva Yatokwana”.

“Our first album did well and we are hopeful that people will also accept this new one,” he said.

Speaking on the album, Tavengwa said they have managed to give different vocalists a
platform to showcase their talents.

“We encouraged different members of the choir to compose the songs on the album. We have realised that within the group we have talented vocalists and songwriters, therefore giving them an equal opportunity to shine,” he said.

Critics have hailed the event for their effort to bring choral groups on the same stage.

Some of the groups belong to different churches but the event has managed to facilitate collaboration and skills sharing.
