State-owned pay-as-you-go pension scheme,National Social Security Authority (NSSA) says it will complete all pending infrastructure projects before the end of this year.

NSSA is undertaking several infrastructure projects across the country.

Dr  Charles Shava, the acting general manager, confirmed the plan saying the authority has so far spent US$16.8m on the infrastructure projects.

“This year we are planning to build Liberation Mall at the museum in Warren Park and we are also doing Makoni Mall in  Chitungwiza and a shopping Mall in Meikles Park in Mutare.

“We expect the Liberation Mall investment to be  between US$5m and US$10m, and Makoni’s investments will be US$2.4m.

“The figures for Meikles Park are  not yet clear but it will be much more costly as it will have service stations, hotel, and retail space. It will be self contained,”  Dr Shava said.

Dr Shava said NSSA has  two housing projects which are already on sale.

“We have  constructed 90 housing units in Borrowdale  and they are currently selling. We have invested a total of US$2m with the  hope of getting 70% returns.

“We also did 735 stands in Glaudina  and are on sale now. They are mainly 300m2 and are going for US$20 000.

“We have invested US$2.4m  on the project and we will get 70% returns there,” Dr Shava said.
