NMB Bank reopens branch in Kwekwe

BUSINESS REPORTER

Financial services provider, NMB Bank, has re-opened a branch in Kwekwe, which closed down three years ago, as part of a new strategy to provide banking services to existing and potential customers in the mining towns in the Midlands Province.

Speaking at the official opening of the branch in Kwekwe, group chief banking officer, Loyd Kazunga, underscored how the bank remains committed to serving the needs of its clients.

He said the closure of the branch three years ago was in line with the digital strategy of reducing physical branches.

However, after careful consideration, Kazunga said, the bank wanted to benefit from gold mining and farming activities in the town.

“We are a bank that listens to the people and the people called and we are answering by opening a new Kwekwe Branch which had been closed in 2020. This opening is to push our strategic thrust on being customer-centric, “ Kazunga said.

He said the branch, together with its agency branch along the street at Zimpost, will serve the people of Kwekwe and surrounding communities to give them the exceptional financial services they need.

“Our strategic partnership with Zimpost has given us a larger footprint to service our clients at different strategic touchpoints. To add more value our NMB Connect offers more convenience to our clients and a truly digital experience. As an organization, we have started on roads in various sectors of the nation’s economic drive, and this online and physical presence ties in together with our vision.”

The guest of honour at the event, Kwekwe district administrator, Fortune Mpungua, said: “…We take great pride in seeing prestigious organisations opening up to serve the people of Kwekwe and surrounding communities.

“We see your work with your agency banking partnership with Zimpost and commend the hard work. We cannot say welcome to Kwekwe but rather welcome back.”
