Finance and Economic Development Minister, Mthuli Ncube, will be the keynote speaker at the youth business expo scheduled for next month in Bulawayo, Business Times can report.

The expo, which will be held under the theme “Building Youth Entrepreneurship and Business Partnerships for a Diversified Inclusive Economic Transformation” is organised by youth in Bulawayo and Matabeleland provinces.

The managing director of Youth Network Connect Philimon Nyirenda said the event set for November 12, 2022 is aimed at creating business opportunities for the youth.

He said young entrepreneurs throughout the country have shown interest in the event and are ready for development.

“With the right support they can make a sustainable difference in their communities,” Nyirenda.

He said his organisation also wants to “facilitate the development of young professionals through an entrepreneurial and innovative perspective in Zimbabwe”.

“We invest in efforts that increase financial inclusion, catalyse job opportunities for the youth and reimagine approaches to building economically vibrant communities,” Nyirenda said

Last year, the government said it was committed to equipping youths with knowledge and skills in a bid to create wealth and employment across the country.

Nyirenda said YNC was “committed” to working with all partners to help young people develop their own solutions to the biggest social problems impacting their communities, and to meet the National Development Strategy 1 goals.

He said the expo will see young people sharing ideas and will inspire each other in innovation and

leadership, and will drive change as part of efforts to achieve the sustainable development goals.
