Three MDC Alliance members including a legislator, Joana Mamombe have been denied bail.
The trio, Mamombe, Cicilia Chimbiri and Netsai Marova, were arrested last week on allegations of communicating and publishing false statements.The three will be back at the Harare Magistrate Court on the June 26 for routine remand.
It is alleged that the three stage-managed an abduction accusing state agents of kidnapping and dumping them at Muchapondwa village in Bindura, Mashonaland Central.
The trio appeared before Magistrate Biyanga Makwande.
In denying the bail application, the state argued that there was overwhelming evidence that the trio could abscond trial.
