Kazembe appoints Moyo to chair Zimpost board

ICT, Postal and Courier Services minister Kazembe Kazembe has appointed Kainet Moyo to chair the Zimpost board with a mandate to turn around the fortunes of the parastatal.

Announcing the appointment of Moyo and other six board members for Zimpost Tuesday, Kazembe said their tenure begins on June 1 and runs for four years.

A former executive director at the Southern Africa Postal Operators Association, Moyo will be deputised by Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe president Mike Juru.

Other members of the board include chartered accountant Andrew Matiza, ICT engineer Newman Nyamhuri, Boka Tobacco MD Chipo Nyakudya, lawyer Takawira Nzombe and banker Sibongile Moyo.

Kazembe said other board members will be appointed once the selection and vetting has been completed.

He said government expects a turnaround at Zimpost.

“They (management) have great ideas. You have to assist them and give them direction. We expect you to turnaround Zimpost and I have so much confidence in you, ” Kazembe said.

Meanwhile, Kazembe has also appointed Keuemetsi Mpandawana and Sibonile Dhliwayo to fill the two slots vacant on the NetOne board while Thomas Utete-Ushe will join the POTRAZ board. The appointments are with effect from June 1.
