Karate Union presents special gift to ED

The Zimbabwe So-Kyokushin Karate Do Organisation yesterday  met  President Emmerson Mnangagwa at the State House.

The organisation presented a special gift to President Mnangagwa from the International Karate Organisation Kyokushinkaikan.

The special gift  included 5th Dan Black belt, 5th Dan certificate, Karate Dogi (uniform).

The gift was presented by top karateka Samson  Muripo, who was accompanied by Senpai Denford Mutashu (chairperson  sponsorship mobilisation committee) Sempai Kudakwashe Mutenda (international protocol manager), Sempai Rumbidzai Takawira (public relations and protocols manager)  Japanese Ambassador, H.E Tanaka, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Officials and the president of ZKU Sempai Steven Charandura.

Muripo represented Zimbabwe  in international competitions.

He won several awards including  First African World Karate Champion at the 1st World Cup Open Karate Tournament in Osaka, Japan in 2009,  Best Technical Prize of 1st World Cup Open Karate Tournament, Osaka Japan (2009) and  scooped gold medal in the Men Over 80kgs

Veterans Category (41-45 years) at the 6th Kyokushin Karate World Cup, Moscow, Russia on October 6th of 2019.

“We had the honour to meet with the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe His Excellency E. D. Mnangagwa and presented a special gift to him.

This gift comes after Shihan Muripo’s successful representation of the country at the the 6th Kyokushin Karate World Cup, Moscow, Russia on October 6th of 2019 , where he won Gold,” Charandura  said.
