Officiating at the signing ceremony of the grant, Finance minister Mthuli Ncube said said while new technology has helped life become easier, the same has been used to conduct crime that has in some cases prejudiced the treasury.

The equipment will be used by the Zimbabwe Republic Police in conjunction with Interpol and the Southern African Police Chiefs Co-operation Organisation to combat cyber-crime and transnational crime in the region.

Meanwhile Information Communication Technology minister Kazembe Kazembe has said the crafting of the Cybersecurity bill is nearing completion.
