Expand networks, entrepreneurs told

Victor Madzedze, the CEO of Yarutso Investments, has urged business owners to expand networks in order to grow their companies, Business Times can report.

Madzedze spoke at the Expanding Opportunities meet up business event which was held in the capital Harare last week.   The event was organised by Yarutso Investments.

“It has been historically observed that success in business largely hinges on the quality of the network’s that the business owner or entrepreneur is associated with,” Madzedze said adding that “Yet there is a growing frustration from young business leaders that they’re not being plugged or being left out.

“This is the frustration that birthed the Expanding Opportunities meet up, organized by Yarutso Investments.

“The idea is to say young business leaders, lets know each other and let’s do business with each other instead of complaining about how the old guard has their own network’s and it’s difficult for us to be embraced there. How about we create our own.”

Madzedze proposed creating a website featuring the biographies of all the entrepreneurs who attended the Expanding Opportunities as a workaround for the event.

“Pursuant to the name the web -page will profile their businesses value proposition, investment opportunities within their business if any and different pain points.

This allows for deepened relationships beyond the event such that mergers and partnerships can be actioned, deals can be structured, and large ticket purchases can be actioned,” Madzedze said.

The guest of honour  at the  event, Munyaradzi Hwengwere, the founder of Buy Zimbabwe  and Ya FM, concurred with Madzedze saying  young entrepreneurs need to expand their networks.

Other  notable speakers at the event were automotive retail tycoon Lawrence Nyabanga who runs Plawn Motors,   Qupa Microfinance CEO Jade Tsokodayi and Ropearl beauty CEO Ropafadzo Machakwa , among many others.
