ED retires Commissioners, perm sec

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has retired permanent secretary in the ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Sylvia Utete Masango and three members of the Civil Service Commission as the restructuring in the public service continues.

In a statement yesterday, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Misheck Sibanda said President Mnangagwa had approved the retirement of Commissioners Stephen Ngwenya, Clara Nondo and Diana Guti with effect from November 1.

Utete-Masango, who is retiring on November 30, will be replaced by veteran educationist Tumisang Thabela.

Since his election on July 30, President Mnangagwa has been rejigging his team.

Last month, Mnangagwa appointed new permanent secretaries.

He also reassigned and retired some senior civil servants that include long serving Registrar General Tobaiwa Mudede.
