ED, Khupe mourn Chamisa’s mother

President Emmerson Mnangagwa and MDC-T acting leader Thokozani Khupe on Tuesday consoled political rival Nelson Chamisa following the death of his mother.

Ambuya Chamisa passed on at her homestead in Chiwara Village in Gutu on Monday.

Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course, according to MDC-Alliance spokesperson, Fadzai Mahere.

“I was sad to hear of the passing of Ambuya Chamisa, the mother of Nelson Chamisa. Our thoughts and prayers are with @nelsonchamisa and the Chamisa family at this difficult time,” President Emmerson Mnangagwa tweeted.

Khupe also consoled Chamisa.

“My deepest condolences to the Chamisa family. I pray that the Lord comforts you in this difficult time. May her soul rest in peace,” Khupe said.

National Constitutional Assembly leader, Professor Lovemore Madhuku, also relayed a message of condolence to Chamisa.

“To@nelsonchamisa and family, you have all my prayers at this difficult time. The Lord our God will use this sad moment to demonstrate his amazing presence. He will give you the much-needed strength to take you through. May our dear mother’s soul rest in peace,” Madhuku, tweeted.
