The Institute of Corporate Directors Zimbabwe (ICDZ) will next month hold its second business leaders award ceremony in the capital.
The awards, to be held on December 16, 2020 at the Rainbow Towers Hotel, will recognise independent corporate directors of public, private and non-profit board directors who have made ‘valuable’ contributions to the boards on which they serve as well as the entire boards that have significantly protected or enhanced stakeholder value, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic period.
Local companies have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, leaving many living on the margin.
The guest speakers at the event will be Dr Debra Brown, president and CEO of Canada-based Governance Solutions and Professional Director.
The other will be Dr Ashraf Gama El Din, the CEO of Institute of Corporate Governance in Dubai.
“The 2020 Honours also recognises leadership, excellence and accomplishment of Corporate Directors in Zimbabwe, including those with non-profit governance experience.
The Award honours individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Zimbabwe’s enterprises and nonprofit organisations through their governance and leadership excellence in the boardroom,” ICDZ executive director Proctor Nyemba said.
He added: The disruptive impact of Covid-19 has made it all the more important to recognise and honour leadership excellence during these unprecedented times.”
