Hospitality group, Cresta Hotels, has undertaken refurbishment of its Zimbabwe operations as it positions itself on the market.

The facelift comes as the hospitality sector is projected to grow following the removal of restrictions on movement introduced to combat the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cresta Hotels MD Chipo Mandela said the multi-million-dollar exercise has positioned the group’s hotels as “market leaders in the three-star and four-star market, with targets including business travellers, leisure travellers, conference and banqueting clients and the member of the public who appreciates our range of services and amenities for social and business interaction”.

“…We have focused on refurbishing all our properties to ensure they are of the high standard that is expected by the modern business and leisure traveller,” Mandela told Business Times.

She added: “We have also focused on developing our team so that they meet the expectations of these travellers. We have continuously looked at ways of innovating so that Cresta is a leader in our sector and not merely a follower of trends.”

Mandela said Cresta, which operates hotels  Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia, remains a force to reckon with and is bullish about the future.

“It is my sincere belief that the future is bright and our patience and fortitude during this time will be richly rewarded,” Mandela said.

Recently, Cresta  launched its Cape Town- based Cresta Grande which together with other existing operations is expected to give the group a foothold in the key destinations of the region, such as Victoria Falls and the Okavango Delta.

Mandela said Cresta  Grande adds a great deal to the group’s existing portfolio of offerings.
