HARARE – Warriors midfielder Khama Billiat has vowed to play on Sunday in an African Cup of Nations match against Congo Brazzaville despite injury concerns.

Billiat suffered a hamstring injury last weekend when Kaizer Chiefs were defeated 1-0 by Super Sport.

Speaking after their meeting with soccer fanatic prophet, Walter Magaya, who is also hosting them, the midfielder said he was willing to play and lead the team to victory against Congo.

“I am willing to give my best shot for the team despite this injury. I want to play for the national team,” he said.

Team manager Wellington Mpandare said although Khama has vowed to feature in the crunch match against the central African country, they will still abide by the instruction given by the doctors.

Mpandare said the team met with Magaya at his Yadah Hotel to thank him for the support.

“We are here for a meeting with Prophet Magaya to thank him for the support he is showing us. As you can see they are all happy,” he said.

Most of the players reported for training on Tuesday morning with Nyasha Mushekwi expected in the country on the same day.

The team is expected to leave Zimbabwe on Friday for the crucial match.
