Yadah star, Khama Billiat, has been called up to the Warriors squad for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers after he announced yesterday that he has ended his international retirement and is now available for national duty.
Zimbabwe will face Kenya on September 4, 2024 before hosting Cameroon on September 10, 2024.
“I have reconsidered my decision to retire and would love to represent my country once more. I will continue to work hard on the field and hopefully, I will help my country in a positive way,” Billiat said.
He added: “I feel I still have something to give Zimbabwe locally and internationally. I am convinced there is still one more chapter which remains unfinished between Khama Billiat and the Zimbabwe national soccer team.”
Following the announcement, ZIFA confirmed that Yadah star has been drafted into the Warriors for Afcon.
” The Zimbabwe Football Association is thrilled to announce the return of Khama Billiat to the Warriors squad for the upcoming Afcon Qualifiers against Kenya and Cameroon, coming in September.” read part of the statement.
It continued: “Following fruitful discussions between Khama and the Warriors head coach Michael Nees, the dynamic forward has officially been included in the Warriors squad initially announced Monday.”
After returning from South Africa, where he played for Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs, Billiat has been in incredible form for Yadah. With 10 goals, he now shares the top scorer in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer with William Manhondo of CAPS United and Tymon Machope of Simba Bhora.
