BancABC, Visa ink 5 year deal

Financial services provider, BancABC and global payments giant Visa have inked a five-year deal aimed at accelerating digital payments and expanding access to innovative banking solutions across Zimbabwe.
The agreement is expected to enhance BancABC’s digital banking capabilities while providing customers with more secure, convenient and innovative payment options.
Speaking at the signing ceremony in Harare yesterday, BancABC Managing Director Tawanda Munaiwa said the partnership aligns with the bank’s digital transformation agenda and will enable it to leverage Visa’s global technology and innovation expertise.
“This agreement with Visa is an exciting development for customers using BancABC Visa cards. It will further strengthen BancABC’s position as a leading provider of digital banking solutions while enabling us to leverage Visa’s global payments expertise, technology and innovation capabilities,” Munaiwa said.
He said the collaboration would pave the way for enhanced card products and seamless digital payment solutions tailored to the evolving needs of customers.
Visa Country Director Taurai Mpofu said the partnership would bring world-class payment technologies to Zimbabwe, improving customer experience while advancing financial inclusion.
“We are bringing our global expertise into the local market by partnering with an agile and innovative institution such as BancABC. Through this collaboration, we aim to deliver secure, convenient and innovative payment solutions to the bank’s customers,” Mpofu said.
He outlined several benefits customers are expected to enjoy under the partnership, including virtual cards, digital card issuance, mobile tap-to-pay functionality, enhanced access to e-commerce platforms and instant remittance services.
“Whether it is virtual card solutions, digital issuance, the ability to tap and pay using a mobile phone, access to e-commerce platforms or receiving instant remittances, these are some of the solutions that BancABC customers will benefit from through this partnership,” he said.
