A local food production company, Amandla Brands, is scaling up its efforts to spread its operations across the country and grow its market share.

The company specialises in producing peanut butter, mealie meal, nuts and raisins, rice, jam, salt, spices and soups, among others. Amandla Brands will be investing more money in buying equipment during the course of the next six months.

In an interview with Business Times, the company’s Corporate Communications Manager, Sympathy Sibanda Mazuruse, said although they started operations on small scale earlier this year, they have managed to buy equipment that satisfies the Harare market.

“We are a company that specialises in natural and organic foods. We started on small scale but now we have managed to grow and we can now supply most of Harare. We are encouraged by the market response after we went the retail route and have since grabbed a number of deals with large retail shops in Zimbabwe,” she said.

“Our next target now is to grow and have branches across the country. It’s our hope that we will create jobs and employ a number of people,” she said.

The company is also exploring the possibility of endorsements and has been offered such deals by many big names in local business, media and arts

“We call ourselves the dream factory because we help our clients realise their dreams and grow their brands. Our clients vary from established and growing businesses, artists, NGOs and all progressive citizens pursing growth. We are excited about the future and are here to stay,” she said.
