Preparations for the 112th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show are at an advanced stage with a strong uptake of exhibition space following the relaxation of the Covid-19 restrictions.

The event will run from August 29 to September 3 under the theme, Unequalled Business Opportunities, Accessibility, Accountability and Abundance.

Zimbabwe Agricultural Society CEO Andrew Matibiri said this year’s edition is open to “show goers with a full programme of business conferences and entertainment events”.

The business interfaces to be featured include an African Renaissance Sustainable Development diner discussion to be held on August 29, the Annual National Agribusiness Conference on August 31, the Mining and Agriculture Breakfast Interface (September 1) and the Zimbabwe-Botswana Business Forum the following day.

Matibiri said the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society had witnessed a growth in the number of commercial exhibitors indicating the revitalisation of the business sector post Covid-19.

“Space uptake to date is 53 346.0m2 by 410 exhibitors indicating a strong rebound in business following the impact of Covid-19 in the last two years,” Matibiri said.

“With relaxation of Covid-19 protocols, the Farmers Festival is back in full force with top artistes lined up to perform on Friday and Saturday at the Glamis Arena.”

He, however, said Covid-19 control measures will still be in place.

Other Show sections will feature selected agri-producers, prize winning tobacco farmers and micro-enterprises.
