TENDAI BHEBE IN BULAWAYO

The 2022 edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani expo kicks off today in Bulawayo with more than 200 exhibitors expected to participate in the event.

The tourism showcase runs until Saturday.

The premier event is being held physically for the first time since 2019 following the outbreak of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic.

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) head of corporate affairs, Godfrey Koti, said exhibitors started preparations at the beginning of the week.

“The preparations of the Sanganai /Hlanganani’s tourism expo have been going on quite well. We have over 200 exhibitors that have registered and taken up space.

“The construction of the stands have already begun as we speak most of the people have landed in Bulawayo to start preparing for their appearances within the designated stands,” Koti said.

He added: “The response has been absolutely great from the international  buyers. At least 100 buyers have confirmed to come. In terms of exhibitors we have had an overwhelming call for registrations.

“We are looking forward to very solid business interactions done at the Sanganai /Hlanganani’s tourism expo.”

Koti said family fun day has returned after two years absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“They (family) are definitely welcome to join us for the family fun day which will culminate to a music festival. This  festival is just a show concert that will see local artists joining forces with some international artists,” said Koti.

He added: “We are expecting the likes of Killer T, Sandra Ndebele, Jembe Monks and other Zimbabwean artists who will be ably supported by international acts such as big Zulu Lwandle Nkulu Mduduzi amongst many others that will come mainly from South Africa, Botswana and Kenya.”
