Youths in the Bulawayo and Matabeleland provinces will on Monday next week hold a business expo in the country’s second largest city aimed at creating business opportunities for the sector.

Jabulile Siwela founder of Young Entrepreneurs Forum said  all was set for the expo.

“We are inviting all young people from different walks of life to the Grand Vista to empower one another and create a better working environment in the entrepreneurship front,” Siwela said.

“The event seeks to bring together entrepreneurs ( aspiring and active entrepreneurs) to network and share business ideas. We believe that networking is a powerful tool as far as entrepreneurship is concerned. Hence the event seeks to promote growth amongst young people.”

He said preparations for the event are going well and they have brought on board members from the corporate sector to share their experience and expertise with young people.

“We are hoping that their presence in the seminar will inspire those who wish to get in business one day as they will share their experience with the young people,” Siwela said.

However, he said there is a low response from the youths.

“We are facing challenges in spreading the word to all corners of Bulawayo and surrounding areas. We believe that there is a young person out there who is not yet aware of this initiative and he/she would have greatly benefited,” Siwela said.

“To fellow young people, not all hope is lost. If we join forces and work together to better our economy all is possible. If we can’t secure a job we surely can try to create one.”
