Afreximbank executive headlines IoDZ event

Afreximbank regional COO for Southern Africa, Humphrey Nwugo, has been named as the guest speaker when the Institute of Directors Zimbabwe (IoDZ) holds its annual dinner at a top hotel today.

Today’s IoDZ annual dinner at Holiday Inn will also coincide with the launching of the second edition of the State of Corporate Governance in Zimbabwe report.

The annual dinner will be held under the theme, Beyond ESG reporting: It’s time to integrate impact in decision making.

The banker, who has been holding that position since 2019, is responsible for driving Afreximbank’s business development activities in trade projects and export development finance at the regional level in Southern Africa.

His role includes managing Afreximbank’s operations in Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Masawara’s group chief operations officer, Joseph Hundah, will be the keynote speaker. The executive and entrepreneur boasts of experience in media, technology, manufacturing, financial services and hospitality sectors.

At Masawara, a diversified investment holding company with interests across Africa, Hundah is responsible for executing the company’s growth strategy through harnessing the current investment portfolio as well as expanding through strategic acquisitions and targeted investments in specific markets.

IoDZ is a non-profit membership-based association for professional leaders which has a mandate to support businesses and the people who run them. The IoDZ does this mainly through training.
